What message are our legislators sending to voters, when they publicly admit they haven't done their job? How many bills are passed each year that policymakers haven't even bothered to read? This is disgraceful. This is called dereliction of duties and we must demand a stop to this practice.

The federal Bureau of Reclamation has announced plans to reduce the level of water in New Melones Lake in Calaveras County for the purpose of helping fish downstream in the Stanislaus River.

Currently, the rate of water flowing out of the lake is about 200 cubic feet per second. Sometime next week it's expected the amount will be increased to 1,000 cubic feet per second over a period of three days.

We have previously reported about what some in South Dakota are calling a "Shocking Genocide Against Native Americans by Abducting Their Children."

Listen to Attorney Daniel Sheehan of the Lakota People's Law Project explain how the Department of Social Services in South Dakota makes up 53% of the entire state budget every year by removing Lakota Native Americans from their families and placing them into the foster care system.

I've never been one to really assert myself into the middle of other people's business. I believe we should all have the right to choose what we do with our own bodies and how we bring up our kids (within reason, of course).

I love my kids and at the core of every issue, that love is the driving factor for most every decision I make . When you boldly and critically assert that I don't responsibly love my kids and you further your baseless conjecture by saying my anti-vaccination stance poses a threat to your kids and our society at large, you engage my inner, protective mother demon (yes, it is there, but only when it has to be).

Previous studies have suggested that cannabinoids, of which tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is one, have anti-cancer properties. In 2009, researchers at Complutense University in Spain found that THC induced the death of brain cancer cells.

Dr. McCormick says that there has been a "great deal of interest" in understanding the molecular mechanisms behind how marijuana influences cancer pathology. This has been accompanied by a drive in the pharmaceutical industry to synthesize a medical version of the drug that retains the anti-cancer properties.

San Francisco's public defender has released a video showing police arresting a deputy public defender outside a courtroom for intervening in an interaction between police and her client.

The video shows Deputy Public Defender Jami Tillotson refusing to step aside as a man identified as San Francisco Police Inspector Brian Stansbury tries to take a cellphone picture of Tillotson's client in a hallway at the Hall of Justice on Tuesday.

CDC Propaganda claims that vaccines prevent disease and save lives, the CFR map shows that the highest disease outbreaks occur within vaccinated populations.

Right off, and at the very beginning, I say this article will cause rumblings and a stir amongst many, if not all, on both sides of the vaccine safety issue, especially with vaccine apologists. My reason for saying that is because what I discuss is strictly my evaluation of the interactive data map showing communicable infectious diseases globally, as prepared by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), which points out some grave problems regarding vaccine statistics, in my opinion. Please study the map before reading on.

More than 700 chefs - including Tom Colicchio, José Andrés, Art Smith and Sam Talbot - are urging members of Congress to support legislation to mandate labeling of genetically modified foods and to oppose efforts to block state GMO labeling laws.

"This is about transparency in the marketplace and preventing consumer deception," agreed Colin O'Neil, director of government affairs at the Center for Food Safety. "Consumers can only make informed decisions when they are given the information to do so. We require labels on everything from juice from concentrate to foods that have been irradiated; why should genetic engineering be any different?"

American workers and motorists got some badly-needed relief this week when the price of oil plunged to its lowest level in years. The oil price has fallen by about 25 percent since its peak back in June of $105 a barrel.

There are many global reasons why gas prices are falling, but the major one isn't being widely reported. America has become in the last several years an energy-producing powerhouse. And sorry, Mr. President, I'm not talking about the niche "green energy" sources you are so weirdly fixated with.

The world is bound up in a paper money/credit explosion that can only end badly. What it really means is impoverishment for millions of people, most of whom are totally oblivious to the roaring undercurrent.

There is little wisdom in announcing an economic crash after the fact. Yet some people get upset that I continue with ongoing warnings of a coming financial "pandemic." Seeing the probabilities before they happen is the only prediction that is worthwhile. Afterwards is merely reporting the obvious.

Panama fined a US biotechnology company's local facility that "repeatedly violated" the nation's permitting and regulatory laws as it worked to develop the world's first genetically-modified salmon. The 2012 infractions were first made public on Tuesday.

AquaBounty Technologies, a company licensed by the US government to foster what could be the world's first genetically-modified (GM) meat, is carrying out GM-salmon research in Panama. Neither Panama nor the US has given clearance to sell GM salmon, but, if regulators approve its application, AquaBounty may become the first to sell GM meat in the US. "AquaBounty is really out front on this - the current case will set an important precedent," Dana Perls, a food and technology campaigner at Friends of the Earth, told Inter Press Service (IPS) news agency. "From what we know, there are about 35 other genetically modified species in the development pipelines in other companies. So depending on what happens in this case, we'll likely either see a flow of other permits or this will demonstrate that there isn't room on the market for GM meat or seafood."
