These natural photos were taken on various excursions up and down the Highway 108 corridor. New Melones Bridge is a favorite scenic spot where locals and travellers alike stop to soak in the beauty. The Clavey River is a natural local treasure that takes a little courage and effort to get to but it's well worth the trip. One of our favorite trips is the drive up 108 to Sonora Pass, where we always find plenty of inspiring views to snap.

If you have not tried Picasa photo software created by Google, my friend you are missing out. This free software is versatile, efficient and fun to use. I'm always a little leary of downloading free software but I have to tell you that next to Google Earth, this is one of the neatest free programs I've used to date.
Picasa will automatically search your computer for all your photo's and import them for you automatically. Picasa offers loads of extras. You can get rid of red eye in a snap, share pictures with your friends quickly and easily. Picasa sorts your photo's and images into their own folder, to create a tidy display. My personal favorite is being able to rotate an image without losing quality, which is what happens with many other photo programs. If you haven't tried Picasa, you are really missing out.
To get Picasa, go to their website .
These desktop wallpapers are available in .jpg format. I have set them to the highest possible quality. Each image is downloadable at 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution. This should accomodate most screen sizes.
To see what resolution your computer is displaying, right-click on your desktop, select "Properties", and choose the "Settings" tab (this will work for Windows 95/98/NT/XP).
There are two ways to use these images as your desktop wallpaper. The easiest way is to click on the thumbnail of the image you would like to download, then right-click on the image and select "Set as Wallpaper" or "Set as Background". Your browser will automatically set the image as your background.
For those who would like to save these images for later use, click on the thumbnail of the image you would like to save, then right-click on the image and select "Save Image As" or "Save Picture As" (depending on your browser). Make sure you remember where you are saving the wallpapers. Once you have saved them to your computer, you can view them (offline) with a browser and install them as in the above procedure. If you have a separate program, which handles wallpapers, you may also be able to select them from there.
I hope you enjoy these pictures, just keep in mind that they are the highest quality images I could upload, they are large files, in most cases at least 2 meg. So, be sure to save them to your computer before trying to view them. I will be adding more as time allows.
